Members of the Timber Research and Development Association and the National Self Build Association

As part of our commitment to providing the highest quality products and services we are affiliated with a number of trade organisations that enable us to keep up to date with training and changes that affect the construction industry through building regulations and other major government activities. We are currently members of TRADA, the UK’s leading authority on wood and corporate partners of NaCSBA, who are active in promoting custom and self build as a form of housing with the potential to make a significant contribution to home building in the UK.

The Timber Research and Development Association is an internationally recognised centre of excellence on the specification and use of timber and wood products. Membership is made up of companies and individuals from around the world and across the entire wood supply chain, including producers, architects, engineers and timber frame manufacturers. Fleming Homes has been a member of TRADA since 1986.

Formed in October 2008, NaCSBA brings together developers, architects, planners, financial and warranty providers, manufacturers, self-builders, community groups and local authorities to develop, share and promote best practice in self-build. It is responsible for delivering The Self Build Portal, a hugely informative resource for self-builders, which is endorsed by the UK Government. In July 2011 NaCSBA worked with Government to publish an Action Plan for Growth, which contributed to the Government’s Housing Strategy in 2011 endorsing and promoting self-build as a means of delivering volume housing. Fleming Homes has been a member of NaCSBA since 2010.
