We realised early on that it is often difficult for a self-builder to give momentum to their project when they are not entirely sure which way to go or how to start. Our initial design service is designed to give you a platform from which you can progress your timber frame build, without obligation or cost.
Every Fleming Homes’ design project is created from a blank sheet of paper and developed specifically around the needs of the individual self-builder. We don’t really believe in 'standard designs' - it is your ideas that will inform the design of your new home.
We listen to your requirements to ensure your design is relative to your specific needs. First base is to understand your budget and ensure your ideas are realistic. Next we consider elements such as the method of construction, cost efficiency, local vernaculars, planning regulations, and engineering; but we will never stray too far from your ideas. The ultimate aim is to translate your self-build aspirations into a timber frame project that is structurally sound and efficient and that meets your individual requirements.
And our design expertise is extensive. The team is managed by Head of Design, Bernard Buss. Bernard has designed hundreds of timber frame homes in his 30 plus years within the industry. His understanding and interpretation of effective timber frame design will set you on the right path to a successful self-build project.
We have a range of designs presented in our design brochure and throughout this site. These are intended to inspire the self-builder through illustrated examples. Complete our design brief questionnaire and take the first step towards defining your wish list and enabling Fleming Homes to start designing your dream home today.
Fleming Homes can also deliver timber frame solutions based on Architects drawings. If you have already engaged the services of an architect contact us to discuss how we can work alongside them to ensure your home is designed to your requirements.
