ADDITIONAL WAYS WORTH CONSIDERING TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE ECO-FRIENDLY
- 1. Designing the house to maximise on natural solar gain. Where ever practicable the house should be built to face South/South-South West in order to maximise the solar gain.
- 2. Design the house to ensure that windows to the north are kept to the minimum. And try and avoid large windows unless there are good reasons such as good views.
- 3. Design the house so that it has good day lighting so as to reduce energy to light the home.
- 4. Alternative energy sources are worth considering to reduce fossil fuel energy requirements. Examples are:-
Ground source heat pumps.

Wind Turbines in windy areas.
